Weight Gain

You may experience a weight gain even though you are not consuming extra calories. This may be caused by some of the drugs you are taking. The extra weight is from water and does not mean you are eating too much.

  • Talk with your doctor about any weight gain you experience. If the anticancer drugs are causing you to retain water, your doctor may direct you to a registered dietitian who can teach you to limit salt in your diet. Your doctor may also prescribe diuretics.
